Jump start your higher education journey

High school students beginning their junior year are eligible to apply for the two-year program and complete up to 39 credits of college-level coursework during their final two years of high school. 

Zero out-of-pocket cost for students*

Thanks to generous grant funding, we are proud to offer the program and all courses at no cost to students who qualify.

Gain work experience with a paid apprenticeship

All Youth Rebel Start Academy students will gain hands-on experience in community-based and/or PK-5 school settings through their paid apprenticeship.

*Up to 10 hrs/week during the school year, 20 hrs/week during summer.

Continuous support services

Students receive concierge support and success coaching to help smooth the path along the way to reaching their academic goals.

Do I qualify?

You may qualify for YRSA if you:

  • Are a rising junior in a Nevada high school
  • Are ready to begin engaging in career exploration and earning college credits
  • Are interested in making a difference in your community while gaining relevant, paid work experience

We are actively working to expand YRSA to more high schools across Nevada, and are proud to offer the program to all students.

How does YRSA work?

1.

Summer 1

Rising Juniors complete up to 9 credits of coursework and work a paid apprenticeship for 10-20 hours per week in settings with PK-5 aged students.

2.

Junior year

Students complete up to 6 credits of early college general education coursework during the academic year and are eligible to work up to 10 hours per week as apprentices.

3.

Summer 2

Rising Seniors complete up to 9 credits of coursework and work a paid apprenticeship for 10-20 hours per week in settings with PK-5 aged students.

4.

Senior Year

Students complete up to 6 credits of early college general education coursework during the academic year and are eligible to work up to 10 hours per week as apprentices.

5.

Summer 3

Students complete a 3-credit apprenticeship as well as a participate in a 6-credit Bridge-to-College experience preparing them for join Rebel Start Academy as undergraduate students and work towards completing all general education courses.

PD & EXPLORATION

Throughout YRSA, students engage in professional development (PD) and career exploration opportunities broadening their knowledge and experience.
