Jaime Sullivan, a graduate of UNLV’s NVForward teacher apprenticeship program, was honored as one of the Clark County School District’s 2022–2023 New Educators of the Year. Celebrated at Robert O. Gibson Leadership Academy, Sullivan’s recognition highlights the success of NVForward in preparing dedicated educators who make a meaningful impact in Nevada classrooms.

NVForward, administered by UNLV’s College of Education, offers an innovative pathway to teacher licensure through paid, job-embedded apprenticeships. By supporting individuals already working in schools, such as paraprofessionals and support staff, NVForward enables them to transition into certified teaching roles, addressing Nevada’s teacher shortage with homegrown talent.

Sullivan’s achievement exemplifies how NVForward empowers educators to thrive, reinforcing the program’s role in strengthening the state’s educational workforce.
