UNLV’s General Education requirements allow students to automatically satisfy the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) General Education requirements; These requirements are standard for all bachelor’s degrees earned, regardless
of major.

All incoming applicants to the Paraprofessional Pathways Project (PPP) program must have completed
all General Education (GE) requirements before being admitted to a PPP Cohort.
Education Student Services Center (ESSC) advisors will review student transcripts after acceptance to UNLV has been granted; We are unable to review transcripts until UNLV admission has been granted.
1st Year Seminar Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement are: BUS103, CFA100, CFA102, COE103, and COLA100E. Other courses that fulfill this requirement are: EGG101 when taken with any of the following: EGG202, ME202, GSC100, GWK100, HMD100, HSC100, or SCI101.
2nd Year Seminar Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement are: BIOL207, COE202, ENG231*, ENG231E*, ENG231S*, ENG232*, ENG232A*, GSC300, HSC210, PBH205, PHIL242, and SCI201.
* If one of these classes is used to fulfill the 2nd Year Seminar requirement, it cannot be used to also fulfill a Humanities requirement. Any student who will be transferring in more than 60 college-level completed credits before
their first semester of enrollment at UNLV will receive a waiver of the 2nd Year Seminar requirement.
English 1 Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement are: ENG101 or ENG113.
This requirement can also be satisfied by a score on the ACT English section of 30 or higher, an SAT Writing or Critical Reading score of 680 or higher or certain College Level Examination Program (“CLEP”) or Advanced Placement (“AP”) exam scores.

English 2 Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement are: ENG102 or ENG114*.

NV Constitution Course
Popular lower division courses that fulfill this requirement are: HIST102 (3 credits), HIST217 (3 credits), PSC100** (1 credit), HIST100 (4 credits), ECON200 (3 credits), and PSC101 (4 credits)
*HIST100, ECON200 and PSC101 fulfill both the NV and US Constitution requirement concurrently, so if both Constitution requirements (NV and US) have not been taken by applicant, Applicant should consider one of these three classes.
** PSC100 is only offered at UNLV and is a one month class.
U.S. Constitution Course
Popular lower division courses that fulfill this requirement are: HIST100 (4 credits), ECON200 (3 credits), PSC101 (4 credits), HIST101 (3 credits), and URST241 (3 credits)
** HIST100, ECON200 and PSC101 fulfill both the US and NV Constitution requirements concurrently, so if both Constitution requirements (US and NV) have not been taken by applicant, Applicant should consider one of these three classes.
Math Course 1

For Special Education and Early Childhood programs, courses that fulfill this requirements are: Any 100 or 200 level MATH course except MATH115 or MATH122. If taking MATH120E, MATH124E or MATH126E, they must be
taken in combination with the corresponding co-requisite support course (MATH20B, MATH24B, or MATH 26B, respectively). Some Math courses do have prerequisites.
For the Elementary Education program, courses that fulfill this requirements are: Any 100 or 200 level MATH course except MATH115. If taking MATH120E, MATH124E or MATH126E, they must be taken in combination with the corresponding co-requisite support course (MATH20B, MATH24B, or MATH 26B, respectively).
This requirement can also be satisfied by certain College Level Examination Program (“CLEP”) or Advanced Placement (“AP”) exam scores.

Analytical Thinking Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement are: PHIL102, COM104, COM217, and FIN102X
Science (with Lab) Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement include: ANTH102 when taken with ANTH110L, any AST course when taken with AST105, any BIOL course with a lab component, CHEM121A/L or a higher CHEM course with a lab component, any GEOG course
with a lab component, any GEOL course with a lab component, or any PHYS course with a lab component.
The most common options selected by students are: GEOG103 when taken with GEOG104, AST103 or AST104 when taken with AST105, ANTH102 when taken with ANTH110L, BIOL100 (lecture and lab combined), and GEOL 101 (lecture and lab combined).
Science (no Lab) Course
Courses that fulfill this requirement include: ANTH102, any non-lab AST course, any non-lab BIOL course, CHEM121 or a higher non-lab CHEM course, EGG100, ENV101, ENV220, any non-lab GEOG course, any non-lab GEOL course, NUTR121
