Op-Ed Writing Program

Understanding the Need

Education is what drives societal progress, and giving future educators the tools to communicate and advocate for change effectively is essential. By empowering NITEP fellows to share their voices, we are fostering leaders capable of influencing policies and shaping the future of education. The skills gained through this program will not only benefit their professional growth but also have a lasting impact on the communities they serve.

About the Pathway

The Op-Ed Writing Program is an Educational Engagement Pathway designed to empower NITEP fellows to articulate their perspectives on educational issues they are passionate about. In this EEP, fellows will choose a topic they care deeply about in education, write a compelling op-ed, and have their work published in a local newspaper. This opportunity allows fellows to engage with the community, advocate for change, and develop their voice as education professionals. The goal is to connect theory with action, inspiring public dialogue and contributing meaningfully to educational discourse beyond the classroom.
